What happens when Engineering doesn't trust designers working in the codebase?
Thi Le shares a real story from Cloudflare about rebuilding trust between Design and Engineering by changing how the teams communicated scope, risk and responsibility. AI supported the process, but the real shift came from clearer communication — moving Engineering from hesitation to actively backing designers in the codebase.
2nd moment meetup
The roundtable broadens the conversation by bringing together perspectives from Design, Research, Engineering, Product and Leadership.
Together, the panel will discuss how AI is changing collaboration between product teams, where it is reducing friction and where it is creating new questions around ownership, quality and decision-making.

Thi Le works building products, design systems and AI-enabled workflows at scale. With 10+ years across startups and global tech companies including Cloudflare and Red Hat. She helps teams reduce friction, strengthen Design–Engineering collaboration, and adopt AI in thoughtful, practical ways.
Ricardo leads participatory design and user research projects. With 18+ years in design and guest lecturing at several universities, he specialises in co-designing and validating technology with people, including in complex, sensitive contexts.
André brings a background in IT and engineering to the intersection of technology, business and transformation, having worked within complex IT ecosystems in telecom. He founded Hyphen 11 years ago, now the largest UX agency in Portugal.
Hugo has spent 18+ years building digital products that bring together business strategy, user experience and technological innovation, leading teams from strategy through to implementation. Passionate about AI and emerging technologies, he explores how they can transform the way we design products, boost creativity and collaborate as teams.
